117. IS LIFE A BED OF ROSES?
“Life is a bed of roses” paints to many images of warmth and happiness. However, if you have attended college long enough, you will undoubtedly come to the realisation that life is far from perfect. Learning to deal with obstacles, failures, and uncertainty is important for personal development because they are all a part of the trip.
College presents its own set of challenges, such as challenging assignments, mounting debt, or acclimating to freedom. Although these difficulties may seem insurmountable, they also present chances to become tougher and stronger. When you are struggling, keep in mind that failures are lessons, not ‘failures.’ You can learn persistence and adaptability—qualities essential for success in life—from a failed test or a challenging semester.
However, not everything in life is bad. Little triumphs like finishing a difficult project, making a friend, or getting a decent grade are equally important. These instances serve as a reminder that although life is not flawless, it is full of worthwhile experiences. Even in difficult circumstances, you can maintain your motivation by focusing on these advantages.
It is also critical to get help when life becomes too much to handle. Encouragement and direction can be obtained from friends, family, or university resources such as counselling services. Asking for assistance is a show of strength rather than weakness; you don’t have to confront every obstacle alone. Even if life isn’t always pleasant, that is what gives it purpose. Accepting the highs and lows makes you a stronger, more competent version of yourself.
